# Morning huddle

A morning huddle is a short team meeting held before the first patient arrives to review the day's schedule, patient needs and any gaps or concerns.

A morning huddle is a [daily huddle](https://joncopeland.multisites.ai/glossary/daily-huddle) timed before patients arrive. AHRQ's TeamSTEPPS program describes a huddle as a tool for communicating adjustments to a plan that is already in place. A dental team can use the same idea to review who is coming, what treatment is planned, where the [schedule](https://joncopeland.multisites.ai/glossary/block-schedule) has open time and what each team member needs to know. The meeting stays short so it does not delay the first appointment. Agendas vary by office. Notes taken during the meeting help the team follow up on items that need an answer later in the day.
