Practice management

Practice marketing

Practice marketing is the set of activities a dental practice uses to reach and keep patients, such as a website, community involvement, search visibility and patient relationships.

The ADA says attracting and retaining patients is about creating value for them. Its guidance lists a website with detailed practice information, a welcoming office and personal contact such as a welcome letter, and community involvement as ways to bring in new patients. Marketing also has rules. The ADA cautions that dentists should check federal and state regulations and the ADA Principles of Ethics and Code of Professional Conduct before a campaign. Common parts are dental SEO, internal marketing to current patients and tracking the patient referral source of each new patient.
