Dental PPO

A dental PPO is a preferred provider organization plan with a network of dentists who agree to accept set fees for covered services.

HealthCare.gov defines a PPO as a type of health plan that contracts with providers to create a network of participating providers. Patients pay less when they use providers in the network, and they may still use providers outside the network for an additional cost.

Dental PPOs work the same way. The dentist signs a contract and agrees to a fee schedule. See in-network and out-of-network.

The American Dental Association notes that dentists face important decisions when they sign or decline PPO agreements. See PPO participation. Have an attorney review any contract before you sign.
