Team and HR
Team compensation
The full pay package a practice gives its team, including wages, bonuses and benefits such as paid leave, insurance and retirement contributions, plus the cost to the employer.
Team compensation is the full package a practice gives its staff. The Bureau of Labor Statistics measures employer compensation costs through its Employer Costs for Employee Compensation series, which reports the average employer cost per employee hour worked for total compensation, wages and salaries, and benefits.
A dental package may include base pay, a bonus program, paid leave, insurance, retirement contributions and continuing education. Rules on overtime, taxes and benefits come from federal and state law.
Pay also affects employee retention. ADA research lists insufficient pay among the factors linked to attrition. This entry is a general definition. Employers should consult an HR adviser, a CPA or an attorney about design and legal duties.
