Daily huddle

A daily huddle is a brief team meeting held each day to share information, review the schedule and flag concerns before or during the workday.

A huddle is a short, focused check-in. AHRQ's patient safety network says that, when used consistently, huddles are an effective and efficient way for healthcare teams to share information, review their performance, flag safety concerns and increase accountability. In a dental office a daily huddle often covers the day's patients, open schedule time, lab cases and special needs. A morning huddle is the version held before the first patient. Huddles differ from a longer team meeting, which covers results and plans. Teams usually keep notes so that issues raised in a huddle reach the person who can solve them.
