The International College of Dentists (ICD) is an honor society for dentists. Its site says its 12,000 plus Fellows in over 140 countries are dentists who embody outstanding professional achievement, meritorious service and dedication to the continued progress of dentistry.
The ICD is a separate group from the American College of Dentists, although the names sound alike. It is also separate from the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Honor societies recognize service and achievement. They are not licenses, degrees or specialty titles. When you read a speaker or author bio, look up the society's own page to confirm what the letters mean.
