Practice management
Practice assessment
A practice assessment is a structured review of a practice's operations, finances, schedule and team, used to find what works, what does not and what to measure next.
A practice assessment is a first look at the whole business. The ADA states that the first step toward meaningful and achievable key performance indicators is an objective and comprehensive evaluation of the business. An assessment often reviews financial reports, the schedule, case acceptance, recall and how the team communicates. It ends with a list of findings and priorities. The review is only as reliable as the data behind it, so owners should confirm that reports use consistent definitions. An outside consultant may run an assessment, but an owner or office manager can also do one.
