Organized dentistry

MDA

The short form of Missouri Dental Association, the state dental association for Missouri dentists and the state component of the ADA's tripartite structure of organized dentistry.

MDA is the short form of Missouri Dental Association. The association says it was founded in 1865 and is a non-profit professional organization of individual members, with more than 2,000 members statewide.

It is a state component of a tripartite association, which means members also belong to the American Dental Association and to a local component society. It offers advocacy, education, communication and fellowship.

The letters MDA are also used by unrelated groups in other fields, so context matters. For the full name see Missouri Dental Association. For the structure see organized dentistry and component dental society. The MDA is not the state licensing board. This entry defines the short form only.
