Team and HR

Team training

Planned learning for the team on clinical, administrative, safety or communication skills, including some training that the law requires employers to provide to staff.

Team training is planned learning for staff. Some of it is required by law. OSHA's bloodborne pathogens standard says the employer shall train each employee with occupational exposure, and that training must be provided at no cost to the employee and during working hours. Training must repeat at least annually.

Other training is optional, such as communication, clinical skills or software. Offices often build training into onboarding and review progress at a performance review.

Good training is also part of employee retention, since people often stay where they can grow. Required topics and records differ by state and role, so an employer should check OSHA and state rules. This entry is a general definition only.
