Credentials and education
FAGD
FAGD stands for Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, the letters used by a dentist who has earned the AGD Fellowship award.
FAGD means Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. A dentist earns it by completing the Fellowship (AGD) requirements.
Those requirements include 500 hours of FAGD-approved CE credits, with at least 350 hours earned in live course attendance, a passing score on the Fellowship Exam, and active membership for three continuous years.
The letters show education and exam effort. They do not show a dental specialty. Some state advertising rules limit how credentials may be shown, so check your state board before you use them in marketing. The next AGD award is MAGD. It builds on the same hours and adds more.
